The school first opened on September 3, 2002, making it Nevada’s first state college. NSU is recognized as a Minority Serving Institute, Hispanic Serving Institution, and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Institution. Its main campus covers 509 acres in the southern hills of Henderson.
