Overview
Prescott College is a private institution located in Prescott, Arizona. It was established in 1966 on a 200-acre site just outside the city. However, in 1974, the college faced bankruptcy due to poor financial decisions and missing donor contributions. The campus was then acquired by Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott. Despite these challenges, a dedicated group of faculty and students came together to prevent the college from closing. They held several emergency meetings and created the Prescott Center for Alternative Education, which gained national attention, earning the title "The College That Wouldn't Die."
