Overview
UC Davis was established in 1905 as the University Farm, an agricultural extension of UC Berkeley. It became the University of California, Davis in 1959 and is now one of the ten campuses in the University of California system.The campus is located in the city of Davis, about 15 miles west of Sacramento, the state capital. UC Davis has a large and picturesque campus known for its spacious grounds, arboretum, and distinctive Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.
