The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a public research university in Paradise, Nevada. It is a land-grant university with a campus that covers 332 acres. The campus is located about 1.6 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip. From 1957 to 1969, it was part of the University of Nevada. UNLV’s Shadow Lane Campus is just east of the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. This campus houses both the School of Medicine and the School of Dental Medicine. The William S. Boyd School of Law is UNLV's only law school and is the state’s only law school.
